How to Modify Inspection Requests

Overview

Did you know Cloudpermit allows users to modify inspection requests?  Before explaining how to modify inspection requests, It is important to understand that there are two types of inspection requests: UNCONFIRMED and CONFIRMED. UNCONFIRMED inspection requests mean that the municipality has yet to confirm the request, while CONFIRMED inspection requests mean that the municipality has confirmed the request. This article will first explain how to modify UNCONFIRMED inspection requests followed by explaining how to modify UNCONFIRMED inspection requests. 

Modifying UNCONFRIMED Inspection Requests

  1. Log into Cloudpermit at ca.cloudpermit.com
  2. Under My Applications, please select an existing application by clicking on its address. This application must be under PERMIT ISSUED status.
  3. Once you have selected an existing application, you will be navigated to the application dashboard. It should look similar to the image below
  4. To modify an UNCONFIRMED Inspection request, please click the Modify request button. It is located towards the right of the inspection tile and is highlighted by a blue box. It is also circled in red on the image below.
  5. Once you have clicked the Modify request button, the Edit or cancel inspection request window appears. It should appear similar to the image below.
  6. To change the date, simply click Change date. Once you do, select a new desired date by clicking the grey box under Requested date and select a new date.  
  7. Once you’ve selected a new date, please select a time slot. Click the grey box under Requested time slot and select an available time slot.
  8. Once you have selected a new date and time slot, please click Update and close.
  9. Congratulations, you have modified your existing Inspection request. It is now in UNCONFIRMED status and will need to be CONFIRMED by the municipality.

Modifying CONFIRMED Inspection Requests

  1. Log into Cloudpermit at ca.cloudpermit.com
  2. Under My Applications, please select an existing application by clicking on its address. This application must be under PERMIT ISSUED status.
  3. Once you have selected an existing application, you will be navigated to the application dashboard. It should look similar to the image below
  4. To modify a CONFIRMED inspection request, you are required to cancel the request and create a new request. To do so, please click the Modify request button. It is located towards the right of the window. It is also circled in red on the image below.
  5. Once you’ve clicked the Modify request button the Edit or cancel inspection request appears. It should look similar to the image below.
  6. Check-off the I want to cancel this request box. To do so, simply click the box.
  7. To officially cancel the request, please click Cancel now and close which is highlighted in red.
  8. Once you have canceled the request, it will appear under the inspection as CANCELLED status.
  9. Now it’s time to create a new Inspection request with the new desired date and time. To do so, click the Request inspection button and create a new request normally.
